Mike Gudbaur

A recent Charlotte transplant from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, area, Mike has been providing the low end to groups ranging from Top 40 bands to jazz combos to symphony orchestras for the past several decades. His musical heroes include Jaco Pastorius, Edgar Meyer, Paul Simon, Toots Thielemans, Miles Davis, and Yo Yo Ma, but he draws inspiration from sources as diverse as concrete yard decorations, yoga wear, the olfactory memory of freshly printed mimeographs, and the Oxford comma. Mike often plays with his eyes closed, so don't be alarmed if he appears to be asleep while onstage; he's just found that perfect combination of cosmic awareness, a funky groove, and certain malt beverages.
